Since I took up running in 2012 I&#8217;ve run three marathons and countless shorter distances, made some amazing friends, upturned my life and never looked back. Heading out on my first run was a daunting moment. I remember tentatively running around back streets after dark so no one would see me. Thank goodness I did! Facing that fear has empowered me endlessly. I passionately believe that if I can find something in movement then everyone can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September 2018 I quit my job in the city and started a PhD looking at women in ultra running. I joke that when I run I\u2019m technically studying! I\u2019m fascinated by what this sport offers women and how powerful adventure can be. I know from my own experiences it can be life changing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If I\u2019m not running (or studying running) I can be found dashing around town on Doris my bike, practicing yoga or having an adventure either at home or away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Motivating factors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To have adventures and live a full life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kitchen equipment I couldn\u2019t live without<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This made me laugh! I am not a cook, but I do love toast and am very attached to my Dulite toaster!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Biggest challenge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Finding balance and realise I can&#8217;t always do all of the things all of the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health &amp; fitness goal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To be physically and mentally fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My health tips<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Rest more!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foods I can\u2019t resist<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Bao!!
