It&#8217;s said to be very effective also, in reducing morning sickness although pregnant women must consult their doctor if they are looking to consume excessive amounts.<\/p>\n<p>Within this tonic, there&#8217;s also lemon which is a great source of vitamin C and can also, like ginger, help prevent infections. Teamed with black pepper, also containing anti-bacterial properties and considered an anti-congestent, as well as turmeric, it&#8217;s a little powerhouse of goodness.<\/p>\n<p>This makes 4 portions so you can either drink it throughout the day or keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days and mix with hot water and honey when required. Use local honey for the best results &#8211; it can also help with alleviating hayfever when taken over time!<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>4 inches of ginger<\/li>\n<li>Local raw honey to taste<\/li>\n<li>Freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the skin and pith from a lemon and place it into a blender.<\/li>\n<li>Peel and add in the ginger, plus several turns of the pepper grinder.<\/li>\n<li>Whizz it all up and put it into a clean jar or bottle. You can keep it in the fridge for up to 5 days and whenever you need, add some to a mug and top up with hot water.
