I don\u2019t know about you, but when anyone talks about protein drinks, a gloopy, milky and usually chocolatey milkshake type drink is what springs to mind. Often thick, loaded with sugar and dairy and certainly not something I\u2019d ever consider drinking whilst working out.<\/p>\n

When I was asked to sample a new protein water, designed to drink before, during and after exercise, I\u2019ll admit I was a little sceptical, but what I experienced was a really refreshing soft drink, with a light, fruity flavour.<\/p>\n

I found For Goodness Shakes Protein Water<\/a><\/strong> much more like an electrolyte drink, than a traditional protein drink, for it\u2019s taste, palatability and consistency. Available in two natural flavours; Blackcurrant or Orange and Mango, it contains 20g of protein, 4,050mg BCAAs and amino acids, no fat, no sugar, no salt and is only 86 calories per 500ml drink.<\/p>\n

Designed to drink before, during and after a workout<\/p><\/div>\n

I sampled both flavours, and for me the Blackcurrant is my favourite. I tried it during a spinning class, and then separately, immediately after a weights workout. On both occasions, I found the drink refreshing, and because it is water based, very palatable during exercise. It is convenient, as it is ready mixed, and I felt it did aid my recovery.<\/p>\n

At \u00a32.75 a bottle, I initially felt that was quite a lot, but you get what you pay for, and in this case it\u2019s a purer form of Whey Protein Isolate, which means it is absorbed by the body more quickly.<\/p>\n

Refueling within a 30-60 minute window after exercise is ideal to promote recovery and support the growth and maintenance of lean, functional muscles. I found this new protein water a really refreshing drink both during and after working out.  It has a pleasant natural flavour, it’s not too sweet, and I felt it did enhance my recovery after training. At only 86 calories a bottle, it\u2019s a great supplement to your nutrition plan, and a product I will certainly use again.*<\/p>\n
