I mean, it&#8217;s packed full of all the things we&#8217;re told are good for us, such as oats (to keep us going the whole day), nuts and fruit. Yet a lot of the shop-bought granola contain a lot more sugar than they let on so before you buy, check out the label. Luckily for us, we&#8217;ve got Gourmet Glow on hand to provide healthy alternatives to what&#8217;s on the shelves. And you&#8217;ll love her homemade granola! Be free and easy with the ingredients and if there&#8217;s anything you don&#8217;t like, then don&#8217;t include it!<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3941\" src=\"https:\/\/healthylivinglondon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Granola.jpg\" alt=\"Healthy Granola\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/healthylivinglondon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Granola.jpg 640w, https:\/\/healthylivinglondon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Granola-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you also like, you can clump the granola whilst it&#8217;s cooking to take around with you as a healthy snack. Or to have on the go &#8211; it&#8217;s delicious to nibble on and great if you&#8217;re running from one meeting to another. You can also experiment with quinoa flakes or making it entirely paleo and adding in more nut chunks.<\/p>\n<h4>For the granola base:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup gluten-free oats<\/li>\n<li>Handful of pumpkin seeds<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp chia seeds<\/li>\n<li>Handful of sunflower seeds<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp flaxseed<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup desiccated coconut<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp ground flaxseed<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>1 pinch Himalayan Sea Salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>To add after baking:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Handful of goji berries<\/li>\n<li>2-3 chopped dried apricots (without sulphur)<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp raisins<\/li>\n<li>Handful cacao nibs<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp coconut flakes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to 180&#8217;C<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl, mix all the granola base ingredients together and pour over the coconut oil until all ingredients are lightly coated.<\/li>\n<li>Place on a large baking tray and bake for 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes to break up the mixture as much as possible and to cook all over.<\/li>\n<li>Leave to cool and break up if clumps have formed.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the additional ingredients and pour into an airtight jar.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with nut milk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Notes<\/h4>\n<p>Store in an airtight jar and keep in a cool place for ultimate freshness.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget you can add in or take things out as you want.
