The product itself is a powdered berry blend supercharging your body with antioxidants, and who doesn\u2019t want to have a super charge immune system (especially these days)? Haskapa can be added to smoothies, yogurt and even overnight oats, which is my personal favourite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I joined the Wellness Series event a few weeks ago, hosted by Plant-Based Chef Niki Webster, who gave us some great insight on how to add Haskapa to some of your morning meals. I tested out one of these recipes for myself, which happened to be Coconut Haskapa Berry Overnight oats with coconut shavings. This combination was so easy to make and an absolute delight to devour in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only does Haskapa have great products, but they have a very interesting and enjoyable background story as well.<br>Haskapa was founded by husband and wife team Evie, a medical doctor, and Simon, a \u2018green\u2019 entrepreneur. They fell in love with the wonderful haskap berry back in 2010 and found a way to combine their passions for the environment, holistic health and ethical business by growing the berries in Nova Scotia, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harnessing the haskapa\u2019s extraordinary taste and deep colour, they created a juice, crowned best new juice in the world at the 2013 World Juice Awards (yes, there is such a thing!). However, Evie felt that from a nutrition perspective there was much more to this berry than its distinct flavour, so at Haskapa, they set out to capture the berry\u2019s unusually large amounts of naturally occurring anthocyanins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After years of research and product development, a freeze-dried powder was created, retaining the high levels of the berry\u2019s natural bioactive content. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haskapa\u2019s signature powder product was launched in Canada in 2017 and is now being distributed across a growing number of countries.
