I always try to be eco-friendly and choose sustainable products. Over the last few years in particular, since I bought my home, I have actively sought out eco-friendly products. More options have become available as more companies have been creating products that are more eco-conscious and sustainable. So why not consider swapping for a product that won’t leave an everlasting imprint on the world. I acknowledge that not all of my options are 100% perfect, but they are a step in the right direction.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I have tried and tested a variety of eco-friendly products for the home and have shared a few of my favourites below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eco-Friendly Products For The Home – Top Picks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Cheeky Panda Toilet Roll<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I first discovered this brand when I was searching for biodegradable wet-wipes for Glastonbury Festival last year. Cheeky Panda<\/a> products are sustainable and eco-friendly as they will naturally break down and decompose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made from bamboo, Cheeky Panda’s range of products are… sustainable, contain absolutely no harsh chemicals or fragrances, (perfect for people with skin problems such as eczema) are cruelty free and vegan (panda’s don’t actually eat this variety of bamboo, so they’re not stealing their supplies!) Plus, bamboo is both soft and strong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the whole wide world making it extremely renewable. It grows 30 times faster than trees, produces 30% more oxygen and absorbs 35% more carbon. An everyday change can make the world of difference!<\/strong>” Cheeky Panda<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheeky Panda has quickly become my favourite brand for eco-friendly and sustainable products. They have a catalogue of products for the home, such as toilet paper, tissues, wet-wipes and recently, they added nappies too! 👏 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Norwex Dusting Mitt<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I won this in a competition a few years ago, at Vegfest at Olympia! In fact, Norwex<\/a> went on to win ‘Best Vegan Cleaning Brand’ at the event. I absolutely love my mitt; it makes dusting fun and easy. I have a few products from Norwex, including several microfibre cleaning cloths, silicone lids and another of my favourites… the scrub cloth (doesn’t scratch your dishes). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnitone’s WipeOut! Cleansing Cloth <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was given a Magnitone WipeOut! cleansing cloth<\/a> a couple of years ago and I highly recommend them. They are the eco-friendly alternative to face wipes, or even cotton balls, as they can be used a thousand times with just water to wipe away your make-up. They are super soft and gentle, and whilst they do start to look a little dirty with many multiple uses between washes, they come out of the laundry looking like new, with absolutely no trace of your make-up. Magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4Ocean<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collapsable, travel straw was on my Christmas list last year<\/a> and I’m pleased to say that my dad got it for me. (The new storage bag bundle will be on my list year!) I love it and carry it in my bag for on the go. 4Ocean<\/a> is an amazing company. Founders, Alex and Andrew have been cleaning beaches around the world. They started by selling bracelets; one sale = one pound of trash pulled from the ocean. They now have an online shop of sustainable and thoughtful products that help reduce plastic waste, whilst using the money to clear the oceans. Love them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ecover Laundry Liquid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that most well known laundry brands use toxic <\/strong>ingredients such as chlorine, bleach, synthetic fragrances, dyes and parabens, just to name a few! These harsh ingredients can all be potentially damaging to your skin, as well as being harmful to the planet as they enter the water supply. Thankfully, there are now options when it comes to your detergent. I have been using the Ecover laundry liquid<\/a> as it is made with plant-based biodegradable ingredients and has been dermatologically tested (vegan friendly). Plus, the bottle may be plastic, but it is made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic which is widely recyclable, however, you can refill where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method Anti-Bacterial Spray<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of the current pandemic, it’s reassuring to know that your cleaning products have anti-bacterial properties. I use Method anti-bac all purpose<\/a> cleaner as it has naturally derived anti-bacterial properties, kills 99.9% of bacteria and is certified cruelty free. I like it because it smells fresh and fruity, not of chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sainsbury’s Reusable Drawstring Bag<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sainsbury’s have ditched the plastic bag for fruit and veg, finally! They sell these reusable drawstring bags for 30p<\/a>. I have three and take them with me each time I go shopping. They can be washed! They are so useful; I have read that people even use them for their laundry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ikea Food Covers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Eco-Friendly<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Humans have become far too reliant on cling film and ziplock bags… I used to be like that. However, reusable alternatives can be found, such as Tupperware, Beeswax paper wraps or food covers, like these silicone ones from Ikea<\/a>. I love these as they stay firm and don’t flick off with the smallest amount of tension. Also, I use my massive blue Ikea bag that I got years ago, as a useful shopping bag now… it’s huge so fits loads!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finish 0% All in One Max Recyclable Dishwasher Tablets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finish<\/a> have made a recyclable pack, yes! Plus, these tabs are preservative and fragrance free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regina Blitz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regina Blitz<\/a> have ditched the plastic wrap and have started using recyclable paper! Paper towels might not be seen as essential, but if you use them, then why not choose one that is making an effort to be more eco-friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst it’s inevitable that we all have things in our homes that aren’t environmentally friendly, I believe it is good to try to buy eco-friendly where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
