When I was asked to review the new Skin Sapiens Products<\/a>, I jumped at the chance. As someone who struggles with skin dryness and an uneven skin tone, alongside sensitivity, it is often hard to find products potent enough to alleviate my problems without causing flair ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skin Sapiens started life in a kitchen in Madrid, when the\nfounders started a family, they couldn\u2019t bear the thought of commercial\nchemicals in such fragile skin. And they knew what they were talking about.\nHaving worked for large skincare brands, they knew exactly what we don\u2019t\u2026. what\nactually goes into commercial skin care products. They decided that that was\nnot what they wanted for their child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They developed a range that uses as few ingredients as possible, with as little effect on the environment as possible. The products are entirely vegan and packaged in recycled packaging. They have a clean, modern look to them that looks high end. What I like most is \u2018they do what they say on the tin\u2019 no wordy scientific labelling\u2026 moreover what you see is what you get. Facial wash to body lotion\u2026 it\u2019s all written on the packet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was gifted the Facial Cleansing gel (150ml for \u00a37)<\/a> and the Lip Balm (10ml \u00a37)<\/a> to try. At these prices they are affordable but not too cheap that you would worry how ethically they were products or indeed the quality of the ingredients used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First off, the Cleanser. It\u2019s a gel, somewhat more viscous than I\u2019m used to so a little does go a long way. Its silky soft and lathers up well. Made from oats, it was calming on my sensitive skin and it felt soft and nourished post wash. It didn\u2019t remove all traces of make-up however so I did have to use a cleanser on cotton wool after to remove the last traces\u2026 that\u2019s no big deal for me as its part of my routine anyway. All in all, it\u2019s a lovely product, not luxurious but does a good job and my skin felt soft and clean afterwards. Definitely something I would use daily as part of my skin care routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, the lip balm. It comes in a squeezable tube, not my usual choice as I prefer \u2018twist up\u2019 more solid balms but it gives a beautiful gloss, which, paired with lip liner, doubles up as a lipstick. It\u2019s a great handbag sized item and again, my lips felt soft and nourished. Another lovely product, my only quibble being: don\u2019t wear it on windy days if you have long hair! It was the classic case of \u2018hair sticking to lips\u2019 but you’ll get that with lots of brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On the whole, I love the Skin Sapiens ethos and the products\nare a fantastic way to make your daily skincare routine more ethical and less\nharmful to the environment. The market is becoming saturated with products\nclaiming to be \u2018vegan\u2019 or \u2018plant based\u2019 and its great to see some that actually\nfit the bill on all levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
